We have already created the poster and certificate for summer internship student. This poster is for Quang Tran - Texas boy who will back to US tommorrow. Hope that he never forget the sweet memory with us.
Wow, let's see what we have tonight on the show: two little mermaids came to rock the Lovers' party :3. Can't take my eyes off them, whoo-hoo hoo
Please welcome Quang Tran, one of our summer interns from the University of Texas at Dallas. Joining Codelovers Vietnam after failing to land an internship in the States, Quang was extremely eager to learn and he did truly show his excitement and commitment to the job. With an easy-going personality, he has already got along well with many seniors through sports, especially through football. He is a die-hard fan of the Arsenal FC, aka the Gunners. After struggling through the 8-year trophy drought with the club, Quang was eventually able to shed his tears when the gunners lifted the FA cup last season. That's who Quang is. He never loses hope or gives up on what he truly loves. "I am very glad to meet lots of funny, highly self-motivated, and incredibly talented people who are working and fighting for their dreams. They inspire me and encourage me to dream big, to pursuit my dream with all my hearts, and to pay back for the community. So, I am thankful for all those things. Joining CodeLovers Vietnam this summer was really a life-changing decision, one of the best I have ever made." he said.
We are now collaborating with Hanoi-in-English group on a new project on teaching coding to children. Andy, the leader of Hanoi-in-English, told me that they had adopted this idea from UK (www.codeclub.org.uk), a network of after-school clubs designed to get volunteers teaching coding to children aged 9-11. You may recall that we and Andy also organized an open workshop to learn programming Python few months ago.
"The UK Code Club has open-sourced their lessons and they allow anyone to use their lesson plans and translate them to their own language. We've translated 10 lessons to Vietnamese already.
We've already taught lessons in 3 schools Singapore international School, UNIS and BVIS and want to teach in some Vietnamese schools. However, our group needs a base. We need somewhere we can meet and perhaps even teach groups of children." This is a great chance for CodeLovers Vietnam to contribute to community, so we and Andy's group come together again. We also hope that talents we are seeding today would become code lovers in the future. Look at the briliant face of the boy (in photo) I really believe that will come true.
If you enjoy this program and want to give Any a hand, check for more information at http://codeclubvietnam.org and get him as possible.
We had some new members coming today morning. They immediately were put onto the company OJT program. Look at the way they teamworking, it would seem that they worked together for a long time. As you see, one of them is a girl. When I saw as she said "Hey, guys…" to other guys, I was convinced strongly that she would be a confident and leadership woman. She's steadily ready to go.
New member since early this month. He graduated from Hanoi University of Technology as other guys in CodeLovers Vietnam did so I believe that he is qualified enough for all what the company needs. A genuine and quiet person :) It's what I impressed about him when we had first meet in my back trip to Hanoi this month. But like us, he also loves coding and still spend hours every evening to study programming. He's a geek :* OK, Welcome on board, now it's time to sail to the sea together.
We have been extremely looking for scene like this for age. They are not coders but just love initiatives and creative activities like guys in CodeLovers Vietnam. The photo was captured while they were working on an app project for teenager with responsibility for analysing behaviour and feedback of the users. Being for sure that no one can understand teenager than themselves. Then their opinions and ideas will be turned into nice features of the app by engineers. Thank god, everything is going well. As an engineer, do you like working in a team like this?
The deadline is coming closer, and we are coding faster at #CodeloversVietnam
A rainy day may bring a bid sad feeling to most people but it seems not to make any sense to me, specially in such a day today. Today we have signed contract in term of long-term partnering with new client. I am really happy for that we have same view point of vision of offshoring to Vietnam... Oops, it's likely going to rain next day.
This a snapshot of an album just posted a few min ago. The photos were taken when we visited one member's hometown with his heartily invitation. You can see full story of the trip by checking out in previously posted album.
It's a bit late but now is time to say congratulation to CodeLovers Vietnam team upon their achievement in a programming contest last week. In the contest, we had to offer an idea and implement its in 2 day and night. As a result we won the 3rd-prize after 2 white-nights hard working. Victory is very sweet but we just like coding as a game. And by coding we do work and enjoy the life.
The 2nd day at SODEC expo started with a litle surprise. We run into an old friend who contributed a lots to Tenkana few years ago. He is also known as an interesting blogger in IT and tech. You may recall that Tenkana is an Integrated service to help people learn Japanese.
This is the first image from SODEC Expo. Here are Duc and our Japanese advisor. This man has his own company but we are plan to make a group company here in Japan. This partnering gives us more stronger and better service to client.
Catching last train to 国際展示場 where a pretty big show of IT companies nationwide is going to open early tomorrow. There're also a lots of oversea companies coming to make their chance in Japan. Codelorers Vietnam come here not only for seeking business opportunity but also for that we want to bring out a new Vietnam where you trust and whom you hire. We're Codelorers! We love coding.
Last week, I had a chance to join a Andriod event for app maker name ABC Spring 2014 in Tokyo（ABC stands for Andriod Bazaar ＆ Conference）. This event is organized twin a year where Andriod developers in whole Japan gather together to show up their hack achievements with Andriod platform. There are various sort of apps exhibited here in type of bazaar market ranging from game, service to embedded or even visually app making tools. Also by chance, I participated a lecture hold by Google's Engineering Director. He talked about the past, now and future of the Andriod. It was a very interesting experience. I will give you more in a photo album later if I have time.
In CodeLovers Vietnam we also have some strong Andriod guys. They should be here sometime. I hope I have a chance to do that.
Well, now I'm coming back with an introduction news to our new member. The guy I'm talking about is the key developer behind the Facebook app BAOGIAPNGO which achieved few hundreds thousands users just in few days when it launched back in Jan. He is good at math and can masterfully control quite a lot programming languages. But the most interesting point of this guy is that he like walking and instance noodle (Ramen in Japanese). As he told me seriously in a short interview, he can eat ramen for days continuously or walk alone for Kms. You should know that in Vietnam people always take a ride by bike whenever they go out.
With such talents, he is chosen to work on a very incredible project which is to build a new e-commerce service that never ever been seen before. Personally, I strongly believe in what he is doing today will change the way we do thing tomorrow.
David Moyes' MU have just won 3-0 and taken into the last eight of Champions League. MU's fans can be proud of their team spirit. And we are also very proud of our team, too. Maybe not strongest, but absolutely funniest. Hey, why don't join us every Wednesday? Just PM us ^^
We're glad to inform you that CodeLovers Vietnam now is becoming member of The Vietnam Software Association (VINASA). It's an honour to us, a company has just established since last year. And we'll do the best to prove that we deserve with that. Bring out more creativities to customer and contribute more values to IT industry.
It has been while since i wrote last post about ICT day in Tokyo. Today I received a photo from Duc-san, I can't help but just want to show to you. As for me, this is one of very nice poses exposing our partnership with clients. I really like this scene, I like everybody's smiles!
Life is a journey!
Andy the leader of Python club sent me a message that CodeLovers Vietnam logo is up on the meetup site as sponsor for the club. Follow his instruction, I got the link http://www.meetup.com/hanoiinenglish/sponsors/ and also a nice photo of friendship in the workshop. You see, coding is not only to create program but also connect people together.
"The customer is King", so many companies out there say that and conduct their service following that mantra. However, some are turning conventional management by making employee first, customer second. The basic concept is that "Take great care of your employees and they will take great care of your customers" as Mike Jannnini says (Mike Jannnini is Executive Vice President of Marriott International). I came cross this concept while I was trying to find out a strategy that most suitable for our business model. And it convinced me at a glance.
You may read for more in original article below:
I'm now writing our "Human resource management" plan by combining above concept with "ABCDEF total reward" framework. So I'd like to introduce you a bit what is "employee centric". Hope that I can finish the document soon and bring out to you.
Are you hacker? You love code? Will you join me to build up a kingdom for code lovers?
We participated in ICT day in Tokyo a few days ago. This is business matching event annually organized by VINASA and VJC. In the event, Vietnam companies are introduced to the guests which almost are japan companies who have demand for offshoring to Vietnam. The photo below is the moment when CodeLovers Vietnam is shown up to everybody. Almost people who I talked in the day are very impressed with our company name and with what we have done so far, even though we are the youngest company participated in the event. Also, we were heard about Vietnam offshoring market circumstance and trend, had a lecture on a success case in offshore development between two giants FTP and Hitachi Solutions. After that, there was a very useful panel discussion conducted by big brothers on the offshoring stage such as Luvina, FJP, Hitachi, NTT data... My question about which chance for new company in offshore development while Japan companies always look for companies having rich achievements was chosen as closing question of the event. The answer is that "belief"! Start from small pilot projects to show up you ability, and make client believe in you. This is very precious advice for us. And I think that YES! WE CAN.
Hello from Japan. As I said before we would send some guys to Japan sometime, today we made it come true. You see, I'm working with Duc-san here, in Tokyo. Even though this is such a short business travel but be for sure that it will open more new chances for us. And we will take more and more guys here. But for the time being, let me write for you more about our "adventure" in the next post.
Snow falling every where on the Valentine. It seems a bad news for couples but a good news for code lovers cause they have more time to stay with their darlings, the computers. Hey, just joke. I mention about such day just due to we've started a project which aim to the couples. Interestingly, today is project leader's birthday. Let's wish him a happy birthday and see what he brings out to us on next valentine.
Yet another poem! a friend of mine made it at a glance while he was chatting with me on Skype, then suddenly he saw my daughters playing around me at that time.
My friend is also an engineer like guys in CodeLovers Vietnam. But you see, he is very talented and very lyrical, isn't he? I'm big fan of his poem.
You may recall that I have written in company missions that we are trying to build not only technical but also lyrical company.
Vietnam is lunar calendar based country like China and some other Asia countries. That means a new year is coming to us. Exactly, lunar calendar-based countries will celebrate the coming new year of the Horse on 2014-01-31. Everybody over here already has started working for couple of weeks but I still want to give you a glance of spirit of Vietnamese's Tet. The period of new year coming is called Tet in Vietnamese. Many Vietnamese prepare for Tet by cooking special holiday foods. One of them is Banh Chung as you see in the photo. It's a traditional Vietnamese rice cake which is made from rice, bean and pork. During Tet, you can see Banh Chung, other foods and peach blossom and wine are placed at the family altar to worship to ancestors. It's an custom from ancient but to date it still gives Vietnamese people an imagination of spring and Tet, like a symbol. Of course, Banh Chung is very delicious and I like it very much. Those in photo took me a white night to complete. It's worth to celebrate for 6th away Tet?
One of our mission is building an open company that contributes much as possible to community. With that in mind, we always reach out other team to see if we can do together. As a result, last week the first open workshop for learning Python was started in our office. It's a study group and not a taught lesson. This is the idea of English speaking group named Hanoi in English. Of course, they also love coding like us. That why we do get in touch very easily. The workshop has just started last week and will run for more few weeks. Leader of Hanoi in English group told me that he would write a post for us about this workshop. I'll let you know later, if I learn more.
This event is given to me a few days ago, in the middle of my busy time so that I wasn't able to post. It's maybe to late or not a right time to write about welcome new year party but I still want to post because this scene make me a bit surprised. You may recall that I have ever posted a photo like this a half-year before. Two scenes are likely same but when looking this photo I can not name some. So many new to me. I'm sorry about that but the number of you guys are growing much faster than I think. Alright, I will try to remember you all when we meet again in Hanoi. One name, one beer :D
We have welcomed many good guys this year. But we are still seeking for more because we are always hungry for talents. As a result of our effort, we are now welcoming a new face. He may likely be a sporty man when he said to our staff in a short interview that he likes gym and playing football. Well, before seeing how he kicks the ball around, let's give him a warmly welcome hug. Cause he joint us just right the time a new decoration app released, I'd like to give our new face a new look.
Man, welcome to CodeLovers Vietnam!
Visiting of customer is always likely precious gifts. Because in such a chance, we get the relationship closer and understand more about business culture in Japan. You could see how exciting they were as our leaders had lunch meet-up with a guest from Japan a few days ago. While enjoying the party, we also learned so many things from his 30 years working experience story. It's pretty big precious gift, isn't it? And this is something you can not have by money but your faithful and honour.
Give your hair a good look is always a big part of fashion for women of all ages. But when you get it done, how do you show it up to the world?

Standing up and saying in front of others is always a good way to improve yourself. The more you make it, the more you mature and believe in yourself. In CodeLovers Vietnam, we create a lot of chances like that. In break time, in seminar... you always have your own stage. As for us, a good engineer is a person who can express thing clearly in an attractive way, beside smart hack skill.
When looking at this photo, you think that this guy is at home? No, he's still in the office and discussing project with others. He's working.
Cause well being aware of how office environment impacts on inspiration and creativity, we always try to apply member's initiatives which makes it better. As you see, the sofa for the tea corner which is someone idea may become discussing space also.
This photo of the fall was taken at Showakinen park in Tokyo by one of us. It looks good? As a habit, it may be a culture of the company, we usually share not only view point of work but also the feeling of life among each other. When you look at the photo, can you feel the peace? Can you hear that sounds by leaves and wind? That is what we also want to bring to you.
Recently we have been increasing missions and tons of work in order to sustaining current customers while acquiring new more. You might imagine that we're just a hard-working group which always has to word hard all the time. Yes, but not all the time. After hard working days, we sometimes go around and have fun together. However, at such a time so many ideas come out in the wake of freely talk about technologies, market trends and how we can catch up them. We like to spend our time that way and we call it: Play like a gentleman and make your business every where. Take a look at our CEO in below photo which taken when he hung out with the other members. How do you think or would you like have some time to join him?
We're seeing our CodeLovers Vietnam bigger every day. It has been gearing up its power by gathering more and more strong guys. As stated in the company's business model handbook, cause being "Crazy for talent" and "Employee centered" organization, we're always seeking and welcoming guys who has skills and a "I-have-a-dream" spirit. As a result, a new skillful guy has come to us since last week. It may need more time to see what he can do for the company but when looking at his brilliant face, he's just the man we're looking for, to say the least.
While Vietnam team has many activities for the weekend, we also have ourselves ways to enjoy life here, in Japan. Last weekend, we had a meet-up then held a small party together. You might think it was in a restaurant? No, it was not. We'd rather have joy at home.
We do business with Japanese companies not only because it's pretty large market but also because we really love Japan. Our business, we make it works while enjoy the life here everyday.
A few days ago, one of our members had a chance to participate Sport day of the children garden which his children are attending. It was such a very exciting competition that the kids competed like real athletes. Below photo is the most exciting sight of the day that the little girl was trying her best to climb a straight mast-like stick without any help, in order to ring the bell up above of the stick. She tried 3 times but no luck. Nobody thought she would be able to complete this task. However, she didn't gave up and finally finished it up with an extraordinary endeavour.
This is an answer for the question why Japanese people have a metal spirit and the little girl also gives me yet another 『never-give-up』lesson.

Back in May, we moved to this building which located in one of the most development parts of Hanoi. It's very nice place. Lovely view, fresh air and no stressful traffic. Since we first met this place, we have though about nowhere else. If you come here sometime, you will understand why we made this decision.
This is one of the poems I like the most. I previously posted it to Tenkana's fan-page the Janapanese online community created by CodeLovers Vietnam members.
It seems like a whisper to my soul whenever I fall down and feel loosing the way. It raises my up, remind me why I'm here.
I wrote this poem for myself but now I'd love to give it to all of my friends in CodeLovers Vietnam. ***
(Cách đây gần 3 năm rồi viết đoạn này trong một buổi tối)
Ừ thì anh nhớ...
Đã bao lâu rồi ý nhỉ?
Kể từ khi anh nhớ
... Hà nội ơi?
Nhớ những ngày mưa rơi
Khi nơi đây, ngập đầy tuyết trắng.
Nhớ những ngày mây mù không nắng
Bệt trên hè, dõi mắt nhìn heo may
Nhớ khi trong đời, mặn một chút cay
Trong men say, anh thèm nơi xa ấy
This guy came with us back in early September. Nice guy, certainly. Let's see what he unveiled about himself. Interest of reading tech magazine, surfing Internet for new trend of tech and spending hours for adventure novel. Very nice. Research new tech and adventure novel is very nice combination, isn't it? I'm really curious to see what and how he will bring in from those things to work.
Waiting for friends who coming from Tokyo Game show the biggest event of the year in this domain. In case like this, I usually take a cup of coffee and check out some official work. Sometime I spend time seating down in side of the lane and seeing everybody walking around. Like it that way, cause it make me a sense of my little Hanoi.
This is a view of center station in Yokohama city, not so far from Tokyo. I took this photo on the way back from a meeting with our new customer. We got a deal, of course. If the project is progressed, we will make a partnership for the future business. So I'd like to share to my friends in Vietnam with a wish to biz will go far and they get there sometime.
I've written about this guy back in July. At that time I told you we would see how he rock the world with his powerful skills. And now what he has done so far is proofs of my belief. I really like his smile of victory in this photo. Wish him nothing but great strength so that contribute more to the company as time goes by.
It's said that solar energy is future energy resource of the human. Japan is always one of leading country on research this kind of energy. A few days ago, I had a chance to participate in an open show of solar car made by young college students. I was very surprised at what Japanese youth can do. I'd like to share to all of you a sights of it.
This photo was taken when one of our members taking part in a cleaning-up the city volunteer event personally. You might wonder what relationship between his private activity and the company? My answer is YES. We chose him not only because he's a skill-full Android programmer, but also because he's a nice guy with enthusiasm, diligence and responsibity for social activities. Cause we are aiming to become an organization that fulfills CSR, have good connection to the community. We need to have as many as possible guys like him to reach our goal. That's it.
For more about our CSR activity refer to http://qa.tenkana.vn and http://chat.tenkana.vn network that has been launched back in 2011.
As you likely know our company has been adopting such a business model that focuses on product innovation. This model has several significant factors for its success like "SPEED is key", "Employee centered"... and the one I like the most "Crazy for talent". YES! We are crazy for talent and always look for that.
Today, I'm very proud to say that CodeLovers's got talent. It's him, the man in the photo whom I want to introduce to you today. He is person who won 2nd prize of Samsung Smart-App Development worldwide contest. He may show us his amazing award another time. But now, I'm really looking forward to what he will do for the company. I never doubt about CodeLovers success with his talent, though.
Balanced life is what we are aiming in #CodeloversVietnam. Look at our guy, "so he thinks he can dance", huh. Coding , designing, learning, dancing, playing football... do whatever you want. It's your youth, so do your best and enjoy it!
In CodeLovers Vietnam, we always look for someone with a lots of personality. As for us your personality is talent, valuable asset. Cos we're a creative working company and creative working doesn't mean how many line of codes you write but how you bring in your daily-life to company development. In this photo, I want to introduce a man of great talent and personality we have ever had. He's very keen on 囲碁 (Igo), kind of traditional Japanese chess. Let's see his favorite words on this game "Strategy without tactic is the longest route to victory, Tactic without strategy is the noise before defeat." We never doubt that his game-thinking will be helpful to strategic plan of the company development.
I had a chance to join Touch table when I was coming back to Vietnam late last month. I was impressed by the way it is. Not luxurious, not very formal. Everybody seat together, and drink and talk like brothers and sisters in a very lovely traditional space. That's it!
That's what we call Touch table in 3T environment concept. About the others T, just back to previous posts. In near future, we'll set a coffee-break table in the office so that everybody can take a rest and chat sometime. How do you think about our Touch-table? If any idea, just leave me a comment.
I'm writing about Think corner, the 1st T in what we call 3T environment. If you don't know about 3T concept, just take a look at previous post right next to this entry in the timeline. Well, Think corner in our office is a space personally belong to you, where you can focus your thinking intensely, do whatever you want but just finish works on time. We're planning to make it larger and more privately by encouraging everybody decorate Think corner with their style.
You might encounter somewhere the concept of 3T office when you visit our website or fan page. Once again, 3T is Think corner, Talk space and Touch table. This photo gives you a sense of the 2nd T, Talk space. It's the place in the office where everybody can say out loud their opinions about the company operation in order to sweep out problems and make a better working environment.
As I wrote previously, in CodeLovers Vietnam I found the best guys I ever know. Even more, we have now better of the best. Well, look at this man, one of us! See what he can do… Not a big deal, It's just a word to the rest of the world that we can do more than just code. Do you want to see more? Wait for next coming...
Once again, drink after work. It is one of the best ways make a new you for a new day of work. I mean you can refresh that way after stressful hardworking day like us. Ah, today is friday...
The winner takes it all! He is the man who did the best effort for the company, in return he took a new MAC. Who know what he gets next?
It's said that august is festival season in Japan. It's not too rare to encounter such a scene like this when you walking on the street during the time. Everybody does odori (odori = traditional dance in English), sings and drinks beer together. That's what makes Japan cool in summer. And that's why CodeLovers also love Japan.
【Release news】 Othello game!
Othello is a classic strategy game, also known as Reversi. You are now able to enjoy yourself with this game in a morden style on your Android phone. Game rule is very simple as you already know. Just place your light piece down and change the computer's dark pieces to light most pieces wins.
The app is now available on PlayStore at https://play.google.com/store/apps/developer?id=CodeLovers%20Vietnam
To ensure our sustained growth, we're finding chances partnering with not only Japan companies but also Vietnam companies which have same interest in Japan's offshore development market. This market has been exposing very potential opportunities since it launched back its 2nd wave in 2010. We need to be in position to dominate the niche that we are aiming to. It was a big fun when talking about Japan in a Japanese cultural space in Hanoi.
In early phase of each project we often have a kick-off meeting in which we share among team members all about system requirements, architecture and how we get it done. All of those are presented on a "all in one project idea board". Not too many words on that board. Because in our office, we're adopting an approach method called "Visual thinking". For more about "Visual thinking" : http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Visual_thinking
This is Skyliner express train connecting Tokyo and Narita airport. Its mission is same as ours that is ”connect”. While it connects people a place to another, we connects Vietnam and Japan, make two people more closed together. Yes, we are doing this. Even if what we can do is not something marvellous but we are doing it every day.
It's summer in Vietnam, the most cruel time of the year. The weather is hot, humid...But those things are somewhere out there not in here, our office. Specially, after lunch dessert will make you feel at ease. Here are today dessert! Do you want to pick one? Come to get it!
A sight of Shinjuku, the most exciting part of Tokyo where you can encounter model stars, street artists or even homeless people. Certainly, there're many young entrepreneurs who quit big company with high salary to start their own way. I know they always look for cooperation from overseas due to lacking of labor resource in Japan. That why I'm here with mission of telling that Vietnamese youth can do. I'm the messenger of CodeLovers Vietnam.
We're building the office base on concept of G+3T. I'll tell you about 3T in another time but for now is the G. You likely already know what Im talking about. Yes, It's GREEN, but isn't kind of green that you have it done by someone else. We make it for each of us by ourselves.
Look at this man, one of us. You may think that is our style? Definitely no! Our style is your style, buddy.
SHARE. It's one of the most words I can say about CodeLovers collaborating spirit. We share knowledge, experience to each other over internal seminars. Here are a sense of a seminar about Cake and Bootstrap. Wow, you see, we stay behind in the dark to learn and a brilliant sky is up there in front of us. (Look over the window)
A new guy has just come since early July. He is good guy with qualified skills of web programming, specially Zend framework. We also call him simply the CodeLover. As for him, coding is Love & Rock. Let see how he rocks...
Thank friends for giving me a chance to be an ios codelover here. Look, my starting is so cute huh?
We are CodeLovers. But not only coding we also love smile of our angels. We work for that, we fight for that.
Akabuchu wine... with nothing to comment
Now is Codelovers Vietnam voice from Tokyo. This is a meetup of Asia jinzai OB-OG. We re talking about building a fb based network for foreign students who joining this program.
Partner relationship doesn't mean work only. We, Codelovers and our partner also make parties, drink and laugh together after a hard-working day. We are enjoying Singapore's life ^^
I don't mean to give Mc an ads but it is quite convenient when you on the go. Also coffee is good!
I send this photo to you from Tokyo with love. This is taken on the way home from work. Hope someday I can see more presence of you CodeLovers here.
In the morning I gave you a cup of coffee in Hanoi. Now, a little surprise! I'd love to give you a lunch in Tokyo. This is Hawaiian food cooked with Japanese style. Anyway, it's very delicious. When you come here, I will buy you one.
Where do you know these ideas coming from? The answer is every where around you.

This is about 3D modeling technology demonstration that we came cross in IT week at Tokyo Bigsight last month. It is very impressive so that i want to share with you all. A 3D object is created by taking a series of photos as the model rolling around, then merge them together. It is very useful to create 3D object for products of ecommerce site.
Do you really want it? Come to us. A lot of fun wait for you guy here.
